Dr. David Hanson

When it comes to the field of humanoid robotics no one is more famous and competent than David Hanson, Father of Sophia, a humanoid robot whose character has reached a billion fans and who has become the first robot to be made a citizen of Saudi Arabia.
Hanson holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas in interactive arts & engineering and Bachelor of Fine Arts from the illustrious Rhode Island School of Design in film/animation/video. At an American Association for the Advancement of Science Conference (2004) Hanson first presented K-Bot, a robotic head created with polymer skin, sculpted features and 24 servomotors for realistic movement.
Hanson has worked as a sculptor and material researcher in the Disney Imagineering Lab and as a designer and robotics developer for Universal Studios and MTV. Founder and CEO of Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics, which was founded in 2013 with the birth of Sophia.
Hanson robotic creations serve at museums, research and non-profit institutions, including at the Smithsonian, US Centers for Disease Control, University of Cambridge, University of Geneva, University of Pisa and in laboratories for cognitive science and AI research. Zeno provides treatments to children with autism as a result of a collaboration between University of Texas at Arlington, Dallas Autism Treatment Center, Texas Instruments and National Instruments. Other robots include Professor Einstein.
Hanson has published over 60 articles in materials science, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, arts, and robotics, and published 4 books. Hanson has been the featured speaker in numerous conferences and is present across all new media.
Dr. Ben Goertzel

In addition to his international reputation as the Father of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and work in AI and robotics, Goertzel is a leading AI and biotech researcher. Goertzel has lived and worked in Hong Kong for the last decade from where he actively runs SNET’s top class AI hubs in Russia, India, Brazil and Africa.
Goertzel worked with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), one of the world’s foremost medical research centers and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in applying AI towards discovering critical aspects of the genetic basis for Parkinson’s Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Alzheimer’s.
Goertzel has published 141 scientific articles and 12 scientific books in the field of AI and developed one of the world’s first Open Source AI frameworks for broad-based AGI development and research.
Goertzel has applied his AI technology to three notable companies: Hanson Robotics, a human interactive robotics company, MOZI AI, focused on developing AI software to develop therapeutics for longevity and age-related diseases and SingularityNET. Currently Goertzel leads the SNET project, for which he worked with David Hanson to bring AI and blockchain together under the SNET platform. Goertzel incubated within SNET Rejuve.io to forward AI research and development for anti-aging and longevity solutions for the Rejuve community.
Goertzel has been the keynote speaker for countless conferences around the world and his work and vision is reported in the planet’s leading media vehicles over the last five years, solidifying his role as a technology visionary.
David Lake

For over three decades, David Lake has specialized in global business strategy and operations, financial consulting and corporate governance services for media, new technologies and medical enterprises with a focus on the Greater China region.
Activity in the finance sector includes stock listings, VC investments, directorships for listed and private companies and development of fund management companies. On the media front, Lake spearheaded establishment of networks in Asia, Europe and the Middle East and held top level editorial posts.
In recent years Lake has worked closely with David Hanson and Ben Goertzel to apply his skills to AI, blockchain and robotics companies, with a focus on medical projects. Lake serves on the Board of Governors of SingularityNET Foundation, the leading decentralized open source AI platform, as CEO of Rejuve, an enterprise focused on longevity solutions, and as a Director of Genuine Way, the blockchain company for food certification.
Lake is a Founder and CEO of AI company Singularity Intelligence Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd. and has worked for a number of leading Mainland and Hong Kong companies over the years, such as New World Group, Sunwah Group, the South China Morning Post, the China Agriculture Fund and e-Kong Telecommunications.
Media content development and operations have always been an important part of Lake’s work in the international arena. Most recently, Lake worked to build radio networks with Australian and Finnish Chinese entrepreneurs associated with China Radio International and China National Radio in Thailand, the Philippines, Italy, Jordan and Turkey. Dr. Dominic Man-kit Lam

An acclaimed scientist, philanthropist, award-winning artist, educator, medical professor and entrepreneur, Lam obtained his master and doctorate degrees by age 22. Lam studied under two Nobel Laureates at Harvard Medical School before working as a Professor of Ophthalmology at Houston’s Center for Biotech. Lam is a co-founder of Project Orbis, the charitable ophthalmic airplane, and World Eye Organization to prevent and treat eye diseases for the poor.
Amongst Lam’s achievements: NASDAQ listing of the first Texan biotech company to gain acclaim as “The Father of Texas Biotechnology”, founding director of Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology, Asia Society Man of the Year, US High Tech Entrepreneur of the Year and recipient of the US Presidential Medal of Merit.

One of China’s leading artists, Lam received the Prix de Honor for his Dove of Peace statues exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Eddie Monroe, Ph.D
Product Developer


Eddie Monroe is the AHL Product Developer responsible for developing the product and working to integrate the technologies of the Hanson Robotics and Singularity Studio partners. As an AI researcher who has worked closely with both partners, Monroe is devoted to the creation of AGI minds with genius, wisdom, and compassion that can help us solve the difficult complex problems we face in the modern world.
With a background spanning psychology, software development and artificial intelligence, Monroe worked with HR and SNET on the “Loving AI Project” developing AI guides for human development and fundamental wellbeing. His work with the partners has involved creating emotional and motivational models underlying robot characters.
Monroe’s previous endeavours include the application of AI to genomics toward the goal of extending human longevity and curing aging-related diseases, with the ultimate aim of creating “AI scientists” with capabilities to make discoveries in a variety of domains. This background provides AHL with critical experience in the move towards the use of robots to collect and analyse biodata for radical health extension programs.
In the past, Monroe was involved in creating a computational neuroscience simulation of the human brain’s decision-making processes, in an IARPA-funded project. Monroe holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Iowa. He currently guides AHL product development from the U.S. East Coast in Brattleboro, VT.

Tommy Kwok brings a number of important skills to the role of CFO. Kwok is a specialist in financial modelling, valuation forensic accounting and capital raising. Kwok’s long history of running operations in Greater China, combined with Western accounting principals and public company governance provides Awakening with valuable financial capability.
Kwok worked as the CEO for Casablanca Group HK Ltd., a Hong Kong Main Board listed retail company (HKSE:2223), responsible for strategic planning and operations; as CFO at Huan Shanghai responsible for its pre-IPO and HK listing; as Financial Controller in Changjia Holdings in Shanghai leading global capital raising; as VP Corporate Finance of GCL Holding (HKSE: 3800); and as Director of Finance and Business Development for Concerto Software New World Ltd.
Kwok worked as CFO at Huan Shanghai responsible for its pre-IPO and HK listing as the Blue Ocean China Partner. Before joining Hanson Robotics, Glen founded an advertising agency, a digital production studio and a media distribution company to hone his entrepreneurial skills. Glen received his BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Yang has 25 years of relevant experience in establishing and managing a number of biotech companies, advising and executing fund formation, cross border transactions and a diverse pool of investment opportunities in multiple sectors. With his Curyx Partners platform, Alex currently serves as directors and senior management positions for five biotech companies focused on neuro degenerative diseases, rare indications and gene therapies in clinical and pre-clinical stages.
Yang worked many years with Morgan Stanley, one of the world’s most prestigious investment banks and private equity groups, in the capacity of its Asia Private Equity and In-house Counsel. As such, Yang focused on buy outs and grow capital investments, real estate, special situation and infrastructure transactions across Asia
Yang worked with both Coopers Lybrand and Ernst Young New York offices in their international tax and consulting divisions. Yang is a graduate of NYU School of Law with both JD and LLM degrees and secured an Economics Degree at Binghamton University. Yang is an esteemed Member of the Bar of the State of New York and a registered foreign attorney with Hong Kong Law Society.

Kresimir Pavelic is a highly accomplished medical practitioner, researcher and professor of molecular biology medicine (currently Dean of Medicine at University Juraj Dobrilla in Pula). Born in Croatia, Pavelic’s medical credential are deep and varied. Pavelic is renowned for his contribution to the understanding of biology of transformed cells and the development of new drugs and medical devices.
Pavelic’s international and national scientific work includes: Secretary Genera of the European Molecular Biology Conference and memberships in esteemed bodies like EMBO, European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Standing Committee of the European Medical Research Council, European Science Foundation and European Association for Cancer Research.
Pavelic has published 300 scientific papers and chapters to top journals, review papers, prestigious journals and books published by American and European publishers and holds international and national honors and awards. Pavelic has been a plenary speaker in 200 international scientific conferences and mentor for over 85 master and doctoral thesis.
Pavelic’s creative and scientific abilities in both the European and US sphere allows him to support Awakening in a number of important areas related to biomedical research and development. For instance, Pavelic ability to lead investigative clinical trials to assess Grace’s ability to provide doctor’s with early detection of neurological diseases (like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s) could provide tremendous added value.

Pavelic is renowned for his contribution to the understanding of biology of transformed cells and the development of new drugs and medical devices.
Pavelic’s international and national scientific work includes: Secretary Genera of the European Molecular Biology Conference and memberships in esteemed bodies like EMBO, European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Standing Committee of the European Medical Research Council, European Science Foundation and European Association for Cancer Research.
Pavelic has published 300 scientific papers and chapters to top journals, review papers, prestigious journals and books published by American and European publishers and holds international and national honors and awards. Pavelic has been a plenary speaker in 200 international scientific conferences and mentor for over 85 master and doctoral thesis.
Pavelic’s creative and scientific abilities in both the European and US sphere allows him to support Awakening in a number of important areas related to biomedical research and development.
